WHITE LAKE CONSERVANCY DISTRICT

April, 2021

Sadly, White Lake lost two long-time residents during April:  Mr. Shelby Watson and Mr. Bill Renn.  They will be greatly missed.  WLCD extends our condolences to their families and wish to thank them for their dedication to the community and the lake's preservation.

William A. Renn

November 12, 1932 ~ April 24, 2021 (age 88)

Obituary

William A. Renn, age 88, passed away April 24, 2021 of natural causes. Bill Renn, the only son of the late and beloved parents, William Matthew Renn and Emma (Longere) Renn, was born November 12, 1932. He grew up in the Southside Fountain Square area of Indianapolis and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1950. He served in the United States Navy Submarine Service in the Pacific during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Greenfish SS-351.

After the service, he held management positions in savings and loan mortgage banking and land title companies. Upon retiring, Bill enjoyed working in a gift shop, an apple orchard and as a role player for companies assisting in disaster training. He also liked most sports, music, movies, flowers, dancing and cookouts with chocolate, Mountain Dew and carrot cake being favored. A dog, but not his, named Mongo, a gentle regal giant dog, often visited. Mongo’s quiet presence was always welcomed and provided spiritual comfort.

Bill and his wife Juanita, who preceded him in death on 2006, enjoyed their years together in their home on White Lake, (Princes Lakes Nineveh area), entertaining family and friends. The last few years, Bill enjoyed being invited to boat rides and sharing “the gloaming” of the day, lakeside in the company of the most gracious of friends and their families. To the end, Bill was a fan and friend with an extraordinary, most beloved angel.

Bill is survived by his beloved step-daughter, Donalee who remained close during Bill’s final months, 3 step-granddaughters and 2 great-grandchildren.

There will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.  In lieu of flowers or donations, Bill hopes you find joy in your life and bring joy to others you hold dear.

Condolences may be sent to the family at meredith-clark.com.

Summer is having a difficult time beginning.  A mid-April snow was a total surprise especially since most flowers and trees were beginning to bloom.  Just a reminder from Mother Nature that we each must do our part to reverse climate change.

A reminder that with summer lake recreation, all watercraft, kayaks, and paddle boards must have your lot number affixed and all flotation devices secured to your dock when not in use.

When the lake water warms, volunteers will begin spraying for weed control.  Enjoy the spring fishing time and summer fun on the lake!
